Last week one of Tournaments top skiers (Kyle Eade) sustained a terrible back injury while training for Moomba at a private lake in the South Island. Kyle, I believe, has fractured his C4 vertebra, however I believe the nerve is not severed.
Kyle is currently in Christchurch Hospital and is about to be transferred to the Burwood Spinal Unit, where it is anticipated he will be in rehab for approximately twelve weeks. Kyle has his Canadian wife and their two young boys at his side. However, as they are both US residents, the living costs plus the inability for them to continue their business's and careers here in New Zealand is taking a significant financial toll on this young family.
To this end the water skiing fraternity has gathered around them both and has established a trust fund to get them through this difficult time.
