Wellington Regionals 2022

Summer heat wave brings the best on to the water with 15 Competitors

skiing in their first tournament of the season. Once again Lake inspiration came up with

goods with glass water and sunshine make for a smooth event.

In the Women Open division, we saw Georgia Groen take out overall and placed top skier

for the weekend. Tricking well over 7500 backed up with 16s in slalom and once again

consistent jumping.

Bevan Kelly this year entering in the open men’s division , seeing him take out overall with

Ryan Groen sliding into a close second place. Toby Kelly leaving juniors skied well in Open

alongside his dad.

Men’s one division we saw a battle of the three lads, Grayson Cooper, James Holden

fighting for first place but being taken out by Waikato skier Tom Mathis with a Line back to

front in the trick finals

Great skiing from Emma McKenzie, standing up her runs with first time adding a backwards

pass to her slalom run to take out Junior girls overall.

Mitch Rush is back from injury and had an awesome tournament earning PBs in both tricks and slalom to take out the junior boys division.

Meg Kelly is back this year out of juniors and skiing in her first season in Womens One,

In the Senior men’s we saw Aucklander John Mctagget ski his best to take home overall.

Big thanks to all the Officials. Judges and helpers that worked hard to make the Wellington

Regionals a incredible event for all!
